Repost from The Ministry of Tourism of Haiti (partner of The Real Haiti)Dear Readers,
First of all, allow me to send my patriotic greetings to the hundreds of thousands of people who participated in the Carnival of the Flowers this year. We were able to count from July 20 to 30, 2013, the arrival in the country of 22,000 people. And out of the 2873 visitors interviewed, 74.90% said they came for recreation activities of the Carnival of Flowers and rural festivals. This Midsummer Carnival definitely adds to the delicious menu that our tourism offers. We promote and encourage any event that may root out the bad image of the country internationally. After the great success of the International Festival of Arts and Popular Traditions in Jacmel last July, it was Cap-Haitien’s turn to host the second edition of the Festival of the Sea. Meanwhile, the sky of Haiti welcomed a new company, Haiti Aviation, which will help balance the air traffic scheme. Furthermore, the travel agencyTravel Service just started charter flights between Haiti and Nassau. It is unquestionable that interest is being renewed in this destination. The Government is working hard to improve the appearance of the country in order to attract investment as one of the factors that can improve the socio-economic life of the population. Let’s work together in the development of the jewels of our corner of the world. Invite others, but come yourself to experience Haiti. Haiti, Live the experience! Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, Minister of Tourism of Haiti Let’s go to Kay Piat! The Minister of Tourism visited Kay Piat, one of the tours included in the Transat package. Through this tour, the Minister was able to identify some points on which the Ministry must implement greeting structures to improve the excursion within this lush landscape that leads to a beautiful natural pool where cress is being grown.
